Adolescents are valuable human resources for the future. Issues related to reproductive health, mental disorders, and substance abuse have remained priority health concerns for adolescents over the past five years. Therefore, health education targeting all adolescent groups must be implemented, including in Islamic boarding schools.

Dr. Sri Achadi Nugraheni, MKes, a lecturer at the Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (FKM UNDIP), along with a team of fellow lecturers, has developed a health education model specifically for adolescents in Islamic boarding schools. The initiative began with the establishment of the Ruang Kespro (Reproductive Health Space) within the Poskestren (Islamic Boarding School Health Post), managed by trained caregivers/educators who have participated in a Training of Trainers (ToT) program. Additionally, at least ten male and female students serve as peer educators.

The Ruang Kespro functions as both an educational center for reproductive health and a monitoring and early detection facility for malnutrition issues, including stunting, wasting, undernutrition, and chronic energy deficiency (CED). It is equipped with various educational materials and essential health services.
