The Master of Public Health Program, Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University, held an Educational Seminar Lecture on the topic “Advocating for Public Policy on Promoting Healthy Food: A Case Study from Remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities in Australia.” The event was conducted online and attended by approximately 75 participants, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students from the Faculty of Public Health, as well as several faculty members and external participants from outside Diponegoro University.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Megan Ferguson, BSc.GradDipNut & Diet MPH, PhD, from The University of Queensland.
The event began with an opening speech by Dr. dr. Sri Winarni, M.Kes, Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University. She warmly welcomed Dr. Megan Ferguson and expressed gratitude for her willingness to join as a speaker. She also expressed hope that the session would provide valuable insights to all participants.
The session was moderated by Prof. dr. Martha Irene Kartasurya, MSc, PhD. During the lecture, Dr. Megan Ferguson presented an in-depth discussion on public policy for promoting healthy food, using case studies from remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia.
At the end of the session, Dr. Dra. Ayun Sriatmi, M.Kes, Head of the Master of Public Health Program, delivered the closing remarks. She expressed her appreciation to the speaker, emphasizing that the knowledge shared was highly beneficial not only for Master of Public Health students but also for faculty members and other participants.
