Field practice is a learning activity designed to help students develop understanding, appreciation, and practical skills necessary to acquire a professional attitude and competence in the Master of Public Health program, specifically in the ARS concentration. This practice takes place in hospitals, both public and private, as part of their professional preparation.

The field practice provides students with the opportunity to apply and internalize specific knowledge and skills acquired during the first and second semesters of coursework. It also serves as a platform for personal and professional growth by integrating knowledge, analytical approaches to hospital management/administration issues, and problem-solving through hands-on experience in a hospital setting.

For students specializing in the ARS concentration within the Master of Public Health program, the primary goal of the field practice is to develop professional competencies as hospital administrators or managers. These roles involve responsibilities as managers, leaders, planners, coordinators, and facilitators who work collaboratively to ensure hospital services align with the institution’s vision, mission, and objectives.

For the ARS class of 2021, the field practice was conducted in December 2022 at hospitals corresponding to each student’s place of residence.
