Graduate students from the Master of Public Health Program, Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (MKM FKM UNDIP), regular class, conducted a Comprehensive Education Program: Skin Health Maintenance, Diabetes Mellitus Prevention, and Body Mass Index (BMI) Measurement for Women of Reproductive Age to Live Healthier, More Beautiful, and Happier Lives. The event took place in the hall of Class IIA Women’s Correctional Facility in Semarang on Thursday (14/11).
Novi Erliyani, as the head of the organizing committee, expressed gratitude to fellow classmates, the administrators of the Master of Public Health Program at the Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (MKM FKM UNDIP), the management of the Class IIA Women’s Correctional Facility in Semarang, and the inmates who participated in the event.
Following this, Dr. Dra. Ayun Sriatmi, M.Kes, Head of the MKM FKM UNDIP Program, delivered a speech, hoping that this community service initiative would enhance the inmates’ knowledge and awareness of skin health maintenance and diabetes mellitus prevention.
Mardiati Ningsih, Amd.IP, S.Sos, MH, representing the Head of Class IIA Women’s Correctional Facility in Semarang, expressed appreciation for the implementation of the Comprehensive Education Program, emphasizing its significant benefits for the inmates. The event was attended by 100 inmates and supported by 25 students.
Several activities were conducted during the program, including:
- Health Screening: Blood pressure measurement, random blood glucose testing, height and weight measurement, Body Mass Index (BMI) calculation, waist circumference measurement, and upper arm circumference measurement.
- Health Education: Women’s skin health, education on diabetes mellitus, and the importance of maintaining an ideal BMI for women.
- Q&A Session: An interactive discussion where participants could ask questions and receive expert guidance.
This initiative aimed to promote better health awareness among the inmates, equipping them with valuable knowledge to maintain their well-being.
