SEMARANG – Friday, 24/07/2019 – The Master of Public Health Program at the Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (FKM UNDIP), in collaboration with the Semarang Branch of the Indonesian Association of Population Experts (IPADI), organized an online population seminar as part of the SDG’s Series. The seminar, titled “Family Planning or Not..?” Challenges During the Covid-19 Pandemic, was conducted via Zoom Meeting and attended by approximately 140 participants. These participants included undergraduate and doctoral students from FKM UNDIP, several faculty members, and attendees from outside UNDIP.

The seminar featured expert speakers, including the Head of BKKBN Central Java, the Head of the Population Control Office of Semarang City, the Head of the Semarang City Health Office, and a lecturer from the Faculty of Public Health, UNDIP.

The event began with an opening speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Dr. Budiyono, SKM., M.Kes., who welcomed and expressed gratitude to the speakers for their presence and contributions. He also emphasized his hope that the presented materials would be beneficial for all webinar participants. The session was then moderated by Dr. Sri Winarni, M.Kes., a lecturer at FKM UNDIP.

The first presentation was delivered by Martin Suanta, SE., M.Si., on the topic “Population Strategy and Family Planning Development in the New Normal Era.” The second presentation, by H. Gurun Risyadmoko, SH., SE., MM., focused on “Achieving Family Development Targets in Semarang City.” The third speaker, Dr. Mochamad Abdul Hakam, Sp.PD., discussed “Optimizing Family Planning Services in Semarang City During the Covid-19 Era.” Finally, Dr. Cahya Tri Purnami, SKM., M.Kes., presented on “The Need and Demand for Family Planning Services During the Covid-19 Pandemic.”

The seminar concluded with closing remarks from Farid Agushyana, SKM., DEA., Ph.D., who extended his appreciation to the speakers for their insightful presentations, which provided valuable knowledge not only for Master of Public Health students but also for faculty members and other students.
