Students of the Master of Public Health Program, Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (MKM FKM UNDIP) – Regular Class conducted an assistance program for the detection of hypertension and diabetes mellitus in Gedawang Village. The event was held at the Gedawang Village Hall on Tuesday, March 5.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Cahya Tri Purnami, SKM, M.Kes, as the Head of the Organizing Committee, expressed her hope that this community service initiative would help increase public knowledge and awareness regarding non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Mr. Abdul Mukti, S.E., Head of Gedawang Village, extended his gratitude to the MKM FKM UNDIP students for their dedication to the well-being of the local community. “This assistance program is highly beneficial for the residents of Gedawang Village, particularly in addressing non-communicable diseases. We are grateful for the large number of attendees today, as this enables them to share the valuable information gained from this session with others,” he stated.

The event was attended by 53 participants and supported by 25 students. Several activities were conducted, including blood sugar and blood pressure screening as part of early detection for non-communicable diseases. The health education session focused on hypertension and diabetes mellitus, emphasizing their causes and preventive measures.

The Pudak Payung Community Health Center (Puskesmas Pudak Payung) was advised to continue monitoring participants who had abnormal screening results and to evaluate their understanding of non-communicable diseases to ensure better health management within the community.
