Semarang – Thursday, March 14, 2024. The Master of Public Health Program, Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (UNDIP), hosted a Visiting Lecturer session on the topic “Gut Hormones: The End of Obesity.”
This in-person event took place in Hall D. Budioro, Building D, 1st Floor, Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University, and was attended by approximately 200 participants, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as faculty members and external attendees from outside UNDIP.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Graham Christie from The University of Dundee, Scotland, UK.
The event began with an opening speech by Dr. Budiyono, SKM., M.Kes, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University. He warmly welcomed Dr. Graham Christie, expressed his gratitude for his presence, and hoped that the lecture would provide valuable insights for all participants.
The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Martha Irene Kartasurya, M.Sc., Ph.D. During his presentation, Dr. Graham Christie discussed the role of gut hormones in obesity management and explored whether they could mark the end of obesity.
The lecture concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Cahya Tri Purnami, SK., M.Kes, Secretary of the Master of Public Health Program. She expressed her sincere appreciation to the speaker for delivering a highly insightful and beneficial lecture, not only for Master of Public Health students but also for faculty members and other attendees.
This Visiting Lecturer session provided a valuable academic experience, enhancing participants’ understanding of the relationship between gut hormones and obesity and their potential impact on public health.
