Semarang – Thursday, April 18, 2024. The Master of Public Health Program, Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (UNDIP), hosted a Visiting Professor Lecture with the topic “Systems Thinking in Public Health.” This online event was attended by approximately 150 participants, including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as faculty members and external participants from outside Diponegoro University.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Simon Reid from The School of Public Health, The University of Queensland.
The event began with an opening speech by Dr. Dra. Ayun Sriatmi, M.Kes, the Head of the Master of Public Health Program at UNDIP. She welcomed Prof. Simon Reid and expressed her gratitude for his willingness to participate as a guest speaker. She also emphasized the importance of this lecture in enhancing the knowledge and perspectives of the participants.
The session was moderated by Nurhasmadiar Nandini, S.KM., M.Kes. During the lecture, Dr. Graham Christie presented a detailed discussion on “Systems Thinking in Public Health,” highlighting its role in improving health systems and policies.
At the end of the session, Dr. Dra. Ayun Sriatmi, M.Kes delivered the closing remarks, thanking the guest speaker for sharing valuable insights that benefited not only the master’s students but also faculty members and other participants.
This lecture served as an excellent opportunity for students and faculty members to gain a deeper understanding of systems thinking and its application in public health strategies and interventions.
