Students of the Master of Public Health Program, Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (MKM FKM UNDIP), in collaboration with Kajen Regional General Hospital, conducted a public health education session on Reproductive Health, Sex Education, and Mental Health Awareness for Adolescents in the working area of SMP Pius, Pekalongan. The event took place in the school’s auditorium on Friday (01/11).
Dr. Dewi Susilowati, Sp.OG, as the head of the organizing committee, expressed her gratitude to her fellow classmates, the management of the Master of Public Health Program at Diponegoro University, the faculty of SMP Pius Pekalongan, and the ninth-grade students who participated in the event.
The opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Dra. Ayun Sriatmi, M.Kes, Head of the MKM FKM UNDIP Program. She expressed her hope that this student-led initiative would help increase public knowledge and awareness regarding Reproductive Health, Sex Education, and Mental Health among Adolescents.
Sr. Maria Ferdina SND, Principal of SMP Pius, also extended her appreciation for the successful implementation of this session. She emphasized that such activities are highly beneficial for ninth-grade students and also serve as a valuable promotional effort for the school.
Further remarks were given by Dr. Slamet Budiyanto, S.KM, M.Kes, Head of the Pekalongan District Health Office, who thanked the MKM FKM UNDIP students for their commitment to community health, particularly in educating adolescents on these essential topics.
The event was attended by 78 students and supported by 10 students from MKM FKM UNDIP. Activities included educational sessions on reproductive health, sex education, and mental health, discussions on reproductive health for the elderly, educational games, distribution of souvenirs, and entertainment segments.
